Kinja'd!!!

I just walked outside to find that my car, a '94 E36, has peed itself a little. It looks like it's coming from the wiper fluid reservoir, but I think it could be the pump. Anybody have experience in such matters? I've noticed it slowly leaking the fluid over the past couple months and I just kept re-filling it, but today the reservoir decided it was going to re-enact the bucket scene from Flashdance . Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Washer fluid reservoir may be cracked from age. It's not terribly uncommon. Best solution may be to get a new one if that's the case. Check forums for people parting these out.

Pull the tank if you can and check for cracks in the tank, busted seals/lines, etc.

In my experience there are way worse leaking problems you can have. For example an expansion tank failure 200 miles from home. On a Saturday night.

I'll trade you for ///M throwing stars... :P
But seriously, these things are a complete pain to clean. Rim cleaner plus like 20 minutes working out all the gunk by hand in all the tiny crevices.

Oh, I totally agree. Especially on a car this old and German.

Well the Blandy McBlandersons would solve that cleaning issue.

I'm now calling all stock rims/steelies with a plastic hubcap "Blandy McBlandersons".

replace the O-ring for the pump

it's a press-fit, so just pop the pump out, put o-ring on, pop back in

should be P/N 61661365657

part 3 in this diag

on the E36 it is a very uncommon failure for the washer fluid reservoir to leak due to a crack

Ah, ok. I know it's more common on some cars than others if they're poorly placed. It was just a thought.

crap... I think it's part 5........

anyway, check with your local parts dealer.

Is there any evidence it's leaking from the interface between pump and tank?
